Hello I recently bought an older home from the 30's with a slate roof, there were some leaks and we had an experienced roofer take care of them and we are set with that. I want to use the attic space more proactively and am unsure about putting up insulation and sheetrock on the ceiling. I wooden deck that the roof is built on is long horizontal boards and there are no gaps in between them, they are flush to one another. Can I put in a styrofoam-based insulation as long as I leave a few inches for breathing room? Any help would be great. Thanks |
