i'm installing a slate ridge on a roof using 12" X 24" slates on edge with copper step flashing beneath. how does one finish this cap without having exposed nails on the last pair of cap slates? do i need to fabricate a bib? |

You will have exposed nails on the last piece. There's just no avoiding it. Seal them with a good silicon or polyurathane caulk. |

12 x 24 slate hips (and ridges) were commonly used on 12x24 slate roofs back in the hey day of slate roofing. Joe |
