Yes that is a copper flashing, under the rows that start to go over the curve. As far as how I figure these out, I think slate roofings in my blood.

They seem to find me find me for some reason. I am just a slate roofer doing what I can. One day at a time and plenty of problems every day. You would think I would have alot of good help and all the work I can handle with items like this. Well I will keep you posted. |

This is the armature that the scribe is attached to. This is adjusted each course as you go up and pivits at the top in the middle of the bell. This works well and help to keep the bell even, also when working up over the cricket in the back of this bell.

Here we go. The wood at the top is not a weathervane. Its my level scrib for marking my courses. Thanks Wim you must run in to these over there and yes John the whole job is well staged. They did hold back on that.

At least you are doing it right. Nice scaffold and railing system. People take safety too much for granted a lot of the time. The inside curve is going to be a challenge, but the thing I want to see is where you come over the top of the bell. It almost has to be a side lap at that point. Keep up the nice work. |

I not sure I will have the time to do any more then the domes, seeing that i am doing it by the hour and an regretting that! |

Liam, you just know that the guy that is going to do the rest of the building is going to be watching you like a hawk and asking all kinds of questions. Why doesn't the company hire you to consult with him and pay you for it. It kind of makes you an unpaid teacher and inspector if he is going to do most of the main areas and you are going to do the domes. Should be interesting. |

Ward this roof in on the lake in Vermont. I am contracted at this point to do the bells only and the GC is doing the rest it house with little to no experience. They did hire a experienced copper worker. |

Wow! Looking forward to seeing how you tackle that. Durable did much the same thing last year, but they used copper panels. They bend, slate won't. |
