hi slaters.
i am about to slate a 9 square outbuilding with random 12" length slates.
Lots of nail, i know.
the random widths are, 6, 7 , 8, 9, 10, and 12
my question concerns the 6" widths.
the holes are punched about 1.25 to 1.5 from the edges.
can i land a slate above the 6 right in the middle, without violating the 3" sidelap rule?
does the 3" sidelap rule take into account that the hole punches?

could you slate a whole roof with 6" width slates?
