We live in the York Co. PA area and have a stone farm house with a slate roof...12x24's. It's a mixture of slate varieties from patches over the years. In Jan. we sustained damage from the 60 mph winds we had...lots of uplift. An insurance claim was made and processed and they have agreed to replace all damaged slate. Who in our area would do a thorough, impeccable job for this repair? I want every slate evaluated and replaced if damaged. Initially we lost about 8 slate but as time goes on, we loose more and more....I'm sure because of the fracturing that wasn't at first evident but over the course of time, the slate keep slipping out of place and falling. Through the Slate Roofing Assoc., I've noted the contractors: Heritage Roofing, Shady Grove, PA....Leeland's in Ephrata, PA, Slate Roof Repair Specialist's, Columbia, PA and Zimmerman's, Lititz, PA. Can you suggest one of these options or any others? My husband is an engineer and you know how they are.....we both are particular. Who might fit the bill? We are assuming the insurance co. will give us no problem if the work is indeed completed. Thanks, Susan Cross |
