I have an 1897 queen anne with a beautiful slate roof, except for where trees were overhanging. I cut down the trees, but that only revealed some unsightly patches left from these old pine trees. I was thinking of power washing or using some type of bleach and scrubing. Any ideas or past experiences for this? JC |

Overhanging trees stain slate roofs. Power washing has the potential to damage the roof if the people doing the power washing walk on the roof or spray in a upward direction. There are some roof cleaning agents on the market that I have seen advertised in roofing magazines. Some people say they work well although I have no experience with roof cleaning. Try running a search on the internet for "roof cleaning." |

Are you aware of a reputable slate roofer in the Twin Cities, Minnesota? Thank you. |
