I'm happy to announce that the new Slate Roof Bible (2nd edition), has received recognition in three national book award competitions so far this year: Writers Notes Book Awards, First Place Reference Book; Foreword Magazine Book of the Year Awards, Finalist in the Architecture Category; and Independent Publisher's Book Awards, Finalist in the Reference Category. The Independent Publisher book awards, for example, had 2,068 titles entered by 1,327 publishers. Entries came in from all 50 U.S. states and Washington D.C., nine Canadian provinces, the Philippines, and one Central American country (Guatemala). This year they opened entry to overseas publishers who market their books in North America, and were joined by 12 foreign countries, including Bahrain, Serbia, and Greece. The book publishing business is a fierce one with lots of competition. I am continually humbled by my luck in the awards competitions.
