Copper edge flashing is not customary for a slate roof at all. If you do use it, then it can be designed to overlap the gutter system.

1st time working with a slate roof. Understanding that there will be copper flashing at the edge of the slate roof going under the starter coarse. Is it customary for the copper to lap down on the fascia and along for the copper gutter to tie into it? Please advise
