If it is asbestos, it is at least 50 years old. They are tough and it is possible that they weren't damaged by the hail. If there are no holes it is probably true. As far as the slates sliding off, that could be from some other problem. Has anyone been walking around on the roof looking for "hail damage"? that is who I would look at first. Just my opinion. | ||

It dented my aluminum siding the insurance agreed to replace the siding but not the roof. I have tiles coming off now. | ||

How big was the hail, and how hard. slushy hail will not harm anything, and there has to be holes for the water to go through. Water has a hard doing through "dots" | ||

It has white dotes all over it, and it has been over a year after the storm, also tiles are coming off. The dotes are confirmed as being from hail. I have pictures if you would like to take a look. | ||
