I have an asbestos roof that needs total replacement and trying to determine what product is similiar in appearance, weight and life expectancy. How long should an asbestos roof last? What product should I use?

Are they diamond shaped tiles?
An asbestos roof might last 80 to 100 years depending on certain factors.
Why wouldn't you use slate to replace it with?
Some metal shingles might duplicate the look of the asbestos,weigh less and have a similar life span.
How old is the roof you're referring to?
