Maybe I can use PVC downspouts, then. Copper ones are really not in my budget, plus I don't want to run the risk of theft. |

DON'T The copper will eat the aluminum for breakfast. Use copper downspouts if you are going to use copper gutter. Also, use copper straps to attach it. Stainless steel will work as it doesn't react with copper like aluminum will. Steel will also react to the copper. Galvanized dwonspouts are bad too. For your information, the metals don't even have to touch. If you used a copper roof and aluminum gutters, the water washing off from the copper roof would also eat up the aluminum gutters and downspouts. Within two years the aluminum will be as thin as paper with a lot of holes in it. |
