You can google something like "barrel vault standing seam" and get to the CDA summary info on both the standing- and flat-lock versions of the roof itself, not the framing, etc. See, for example: http://64.90.169.191/applications/architecture/arch_dhb/domes_spires_vaults/barr el_standing_seam.html. One of their manuals probably has all the details? TonyF |

By the way, I searched everywhere for barrel dormer specs for a recent consulting job, but found *nothing*. So if you do find anything, please let us know. |

Two foot by about 18in is the most used. I have seen barrel dormer done with panel that go from front to back on the dormer, making let seams. But that makes the panels bigger! |

Flat lock is what I was thinking, but I'd like to avoid as many visible seams as I could. Do you know what the largest recommended panel size would be on something like these dormers? Is about 24" inches the biggest you should really go on anything? Thanks for your help. |

Well if you do standing seam you will want a stretcher from www.irvansmith.com. It will come as a pair, one stretcher and one shrinker. This tool will curve your panel to want ever the roof is. The best way is make u-panel not standingseam, if you bent your panel like standing seam you would end up unbending most of the lock. You can also do flat lock copper like we did at the SRCA Conference this year. (See picture on the SRCA wed site. I hope this helps. |

The homeowner showed me pictures of how she would like them done. The pictures weren't very good and they looked like they were done in lead. But she wants copper, and I don't think standing seam will give her the look she wants. |

Copper. Two small ones (4'x6') and one larger one (12.5'x6'). |
