Mr. Taran, I responded to your email on December 30th. We have been very busy, and were going to contact you. After we checked out some of the contacts John Neil at North Country Slate gave to my husband. We have been hoping to find a slater closer to us here in Canada, and are a little worried about what kind of additional costs bringing someone in from over the border may add to our project. I am sorry that you do not think we are "serious" enough for you. |

We recently bought a beautiful old Victorian in Brockville Ontario. For the Past 6 months we have been searching for a contractor who would help us with it's original slate roof. We have had no luck at all. We have yet to even have a roofer actually show up to take a look at it. No one will talk to us. The only slate roofer in the area, refuses to give a quote, and sounds like he has no idea what he is talking about. We do not know what to do. We were hoping to restore the roof. But without even being able to get someone here to see if that is possible, we are at a loss. The roof needs serious attention. Has small leaks, and repair jobs from the past 126 years that are frightening. But it was beautiful once, and could be again. If only we could find someone to help us. Does anyone out there have any suggestions? We are open to anything at this point. Here are some photos. http://www.ouroldhouse.ca/oldhouse_gallery/outside/index.html |
