Could I install 1" decking parallel with the pitch of the roof rather than perpendicular to it? This would be on purlins between TF bents. Purlins no more than 24" on center. My original 1815 roof has rafters 3"x5" 24" o.c., so I imagine this would not be a problem other than obviously requiring full sheathing, rather than skip.
