Pros: uses less slate

Cons: much of roof is single layer of slate and more susceptible to (for example) hail damage. Harder to repair. Less overlapping on the slate.

What are the pros and cons of Ducth Lapping installation of slate on the 12:16 pitch roof with 19 feet of height exposure. Main concern is wind and hot sun exposure. Can someone post of photo of a similar installation with similar slope and height.
