Is 90 lb roll roofing an acceptable form of underlayment for tile roofs installed using a counter batten system? Will it last just as long as doulbed 30 lb. felt? If it is not ok to use 90lb. what are the reasons? If it is ok should there be an underlayment under the 90lb. roll roofing? Finally, should I remove all the old 30lb. felt or just the deteriorated sections?

Contact the tile roofing institute and ask them.
