The new URL for the Tile Roofing Manual is: http://www.tileroofing.org/installation-guides-pages-218.php (I'm sure that too will go bad) |

My guess is the water is actually coming in elsewhere. The underlayment is not the primary shedding surface on a tile roof system. |

Hi Slate_man...the reason I believe it's the underlayment is because the tiles are actually intact; there are no broken tiles where the water is coming in. |

Hay Stan, Why do you think that you need new under layment? Most tile roofs just need a few tiles to be replaced. |

There is a tile installation manual published by the Tile Roofing Institute (http://www.tileroofing.org/tileroofing/interior_ektid58.aspx) along with several other publications. |

Ive never been able to find much info myself. to me the best way to learn is to just start taking it apart and go slow. look at how its put together and whats working and what isnt. good luck and dont hesitate to ask questions! |

Hello again. I re-posted this because I thought the original post's Subject line wasn't descriptive enough and I couldn't figure out how to edit it...I have a green-glazed Spanish tile roof that needs underlayment replacement. I'm thinking about doing it myself but cannot find a how-to book anywhere. Any suggestions on a book that would show the step-by-step process? Your help is most appreciated! Thanks. |
