I have a side lapped roof and am fixing it. My question is is that I have found from this site a source for tiles but he says that his are diamond shaped and I don't know if they are different size than mine. Mine are 16 1/4 inch square with one corner cut at about 3 inches diagonally. Wish I could post a picture to make sure. |

Are you talking about asbestos tiles? Are your tiles laying in a diamond (diagonal)pattern on the roof? If so, then the only sizes that I have seen of those are 16x16 and 12x12, both with the bottom corner snipped off. The difference between 16 1/4" and 16" would be unimportant. |

We also have some 16"X16" asbestos with the bottom point cut off. If you really want to keep the asbestos roof you have, you should check out this sight. http://www.mrcleanpressurewashing.com/asbestosroofingmainpage.html |

Barry, my roof is asbestos and is laid horizontal, side lapped, and my tiles which were originally put on in 1937 are square 16 1/4". I have already removed and replaced half the roof but am looking for tiles to finish with. I have some that were taken off an old church and some others that came off a house locally but they are a different color, red, and the material is closer to the asbestos siding than the roof tiles. I have found about 1000 from this site that are 4 hours away and am just trying not to make a wasted trip that is why I have questions. To Admin--Leo Glenn told me to post here to find tiles closer and to answer this question. I have looked at the sources on the website now maybe I will call them and ask them my questions. Thanks Carl |
